In the EMO series, I track poetry in the infinitely small, using epoxy resin like the magnifying glass of an imaginary microscope.
To express this quest, I like to blur the codes of traditional painting and create new processes: here, it is about using resins from the nautical and / or building trades, and combining them with painting . These two materials repel and divide, sometimes creating patterns that only Nature can produce. So there is a kind of randomness here, and this is what brings the organic, telluric side to my works.
On the other hand, I also contrast the dullness of the canvas with the shine of the epoxy, to bring new textures, and make the viewer wonder what he is really looking at: an aerial view? A microscopic cell? An enamel ? Space and its depths?
Losing our bearings is a very good prerequisite for pure emotion, free from all consciousness. It is then up to us to interpret or question the place of Man in the universe and his link to Nature …
